Welcome
P ainter, designer and sculptor, graduated in the ‘80s at the time the Fantastic Realism in literature was born.
He specialized in the Renaissance painting techniques as well as the making of canvas and pigments used in that period.
Influenced by Dutch and German artists of the end of 15th and 16th Centuries, he developed the use of symbolism, caustic and imaginative themes. He also integrated the naturalism, meticulous details and vivid colours besides the extreme precision in textures and new perspectives.
In many of his works André Netto uses a distorted perspective as a resource to dramatize the painting creating situations in a suspended time.
His paintings picture strange characters in movement that show depth and expression in the eyes and the gestures. The faces in close keep shading and an intense life expressed in careful and detailed brushstrokes.
Characteristic aspects of expression are present in many of his works: magic and fantastic elements, distorted time, mixing elements from different times, creating a new and shocking perspective.
Andre Netto works and lives in São Paulo , Brazil.
